Financial and Cancellation Policy for Dr Michael Kernohan & Pure Visage

Thank you for choosing Pure Visage Specialist Plastic Surgery for your Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery.

The following information is about our financial policy concerning Cosmetic Surgery. In almost all instances the cost of cosmetic surgery is NOT covered by insurance companies or other third-party payers and therefore patients must expect to be responsible for this cost.

Paying a Deposit for Surgery

A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the surgical fee only, is required to confirm your surgery date. The remaining balance is to be paid 21 days prior to your surgery date.

Full Payment for Surgery

If full payment is not received 21 days prior to your surgery, your surgical date may need to be rescheduled so that another patient can use the surgical time.

We understand exceptional and unexpected circumstances and will work with you to help accommodate an alternative date for surgery in these circumstances.

Credit Card Payments

If a payment is made to this practice via a standard credit card, any refunded money will be subject to an additional 2.99% charge for transaction fees. Payments made by bank transfers do not incur a refund cost.

Making Payments and Deposits

Payment for all surgical procedures is the responsibility of the patient.

All payments made should have the Patients Name and Quote invoice number in their reference transaction.

All patients engaging in surgery are required to read, agree, and sign our financial & cancellation policy prior to payment. If someone other than the patient makes payments towards the surgical procedure and/or make payment in full on behalf of the patient, then they will also need to read and agree to the terms and conditions by signing the policy.

Our quotes are inclusive of the Surgeons fee, the cost of any implants or other devices, surgical garments, and items to support recovery, all post-operative consultations (for 12 months) relating to the surgery and surgical assistant fees.

We include the indicative costs of the Hospital and Anaesthetist in our quotes to help your initial budgeting. These indicative costs are not within our control and must be confirmed with the relevant provider. Our quotes are valid for 90 days from their date. Due to changes in Hospital costs, we are very happy to re-quote after this period.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

The Practice understands the importance of client satisfaction and aims to provide a transparent and fair refund policy. Refunds shall be provided under the following circumstances:

Refunds for Surgery and Procedures

The following information explains the terms and conditions of our financial / cancellation policy concerning Cosmetic and Reconstructive surgical procedures. In almost all instances the cost of cosmetic surgery is not covered by Medicare, insurance companies or other third-party payers. It is the patient’s responsibility to cover these costs.

Surgery Rescheduling Fee – Postponement of Surgery

If the surgery is rescheduled during the 21 days prior to your surgery date, there will be an additional non-refundable $500 rescheduling fee.

Exceptions to this are medical illnesses or unforeseen life emergencies prior to the operation, where a medical certificate or letter must be presented. In these exceptional circumstances, there will be no charge for rescheduling.

Cancelling Surgery

If you need to cancel your surgery after your pre-operative appointment, but more than 7 days before the surgery, you will be entitled to a full refund for surgical costs minus the 20% deposit. If at any time surgery is cancelled within 7 days of the date of surgery, and not rescheduled, you will be refunded 50% of the cost of your surgical fee. If you wish to cancel your procedure after rescheduling within 7 days of your original surgical date, you are still subject to a refund of 50% of the cost of your surgical fee.

Refunds for Consultations

All patients engaging in surgery are required to have one or more consultations prior to surgery, as set out in the AHPRA Guidelines July 2023.

Pure Visage offers a primary non-refundable consultation that is paid in full at the time of the booking. This booking fee is to book time with a professional, to seek an expert opinion. Subsequent consultations about the same procedure are free, there is no further charge for subsequent consultations about this procedure within a year of your first consultation.

  1. Client-Requested Cancellations:

Consultations are non-refundable.

Consultations can be rescheduled within 28 days and up to 2 days prior to the consultation.

If a consultation is cancelled within 2 days of the scheduled appointment or the client does not attend their scheduled appointment, there is no refund.

Once a consultation appointment with a professional has occurred there is no refund for that consultation.

  • Practice-Requested Cancellations:

In the event that a scheduled consultation cannot proceed, due to the unavailability of a practitioner or unforeseen circumstances on the part of the practice, the Client shall be entitled to a full refund. The practice shall make reasonable efforts to reschedule the appointment at the earliest convenience of the Client.

  • Other Circumstances:

Additional refund conditions may be considered and agreed upon by both parties on a case-by-case basis. Any such conditions shall be documented and mutually signed by the Client and Practice. The Client may request a refund in writing to [email protected] for the attention of the patient co-ordinator, for consideration, explaining their unforeseen circumstances/ change of position.

Refunds for Purchased Products

All purchased goods can be returned or exchanged within 21 days of the purchase date. For a full refund, returned or exchanged products must be unopened and in the original condition you received them in. They must be in a re-saleable condition with all security seals intact.

Our staff will need to know about the product concerned and the problem that has occurred. If this is a skin reaction, please include photo images of the area of skin concerned. You are very welcome to attend the clinic and discuss the issue with a member of staff directly, who will be very happy to help you resolve the situation. Please be aware that there needs to be more than 80% of the product remaining to comply for a full refund.

All approved returns will receive a full refund back onto the original credit card used to make the purchase. You are responsible for all delivery charges associated with a return item unless it is deemed an error on our behalf.
